
Two civilians were killed and two were injured in firing in several places in the city of Langley in the Canadian province of British Columbia. The police also killed the attacker. According to Canadian time, the incident occurred on Monday morning. The time difference between India and Canada is 9.30 hours. That is, according to Indian time, this incident happened between 9.30 am to 3.30 am on Monday.
According to police, the shootout began on the intervening night of Sunday-Monday in the town of Langley, near Vancouver. An attacker targeted homeless people at about 5 locations in the city from 12 pm to 6 am. The attacker shot four people, out of which two people died on the spot, while a man and a woman were seriously injured. The condition of the woman is said to be critical.
Attack on these locations
Police said the attacker first attacked the casino around midnight. This was followed by shooting at a residential complex, bus stop, and highway at 3 pm, 5 pm, and 5.45 pm. Apart from this, the attacker also opened fire near the mall. All these places are at a distance of a few km.
The attacker became a victim of police bullets near the mall
Police said they killed the attacker near Willowbrook Mall. A black police car has been found near the mall with at least nine bullets fired into its windshield and the driver's seat window.
Canadian police say it is not yet clear whether the attacker opened fire on the car or whether the policeman sitting inside fired at the attacker outside.
The identities of those killed have not been disclosed yet.
Canadian police have currently declined to make public the identities of the attacker and the civilians killed. Police say that first the families of the deceased will be informed about this. Only after that, the names will be disclosed to the public. Police also said that the police knew the attacker, but what could be the reason behind the attack is yet to be ascertained.
