He used to go to the houses to distribute milk every day, one of these houses also belonged to the minister of Rajasthan. Due to giving milk for the last many years, people's faith in him increased so much that the minister made him stand in the election itself and he also won. The victory also without any opposition, that is, unopposed.
This is not a story, it is the reality of the Alwar district of Rajasthan. Here elections are to be held for Zilla Parishad members and Panchayat Samiti members on October 20, 23, and 26, but even before that Jagdish Jatav, who distributed milk, has been elected unopposed. After winning unopposed from ward number 20, Jagdish says that he is only educated till class VIII and he did not even know how to fill the form for the election. Despite this, there is no dearth of will and desire to serve the people in his mind. Jagdish says that in 2015, he has done the work of serving the people by being a Deputy Sarpanch from Tulera Gram Panchayat. Perhaps seeing this dedication to the service of the people, the Congress party made him stand in the election. He gives full credit for this to Tikaram Julie, Labor Minister of the Rajasthan Government.
Monthly income of 15 to 20 thousand rupees
Jagdish told that he belongs to a poor family and makes a living by distributing milk. The income for the whole month is only 15 to 20 thousand rupees. When he went to distribute milk, people would make him aware of social problems. Since he used to go to the minister's house also to distribute milk, he would have told it there and people's work would start. As a result, with the help of the minister, the Congress party made him its candidate from Ward 20. Now he has been elected unopposed. He told that when he got the call of the unopposed election, his happiness knew no bounds. Ward number 20 has 60 to 70 thousand voters. In such a situation, his priority will be that he should take the road, water, and electricity-related problems of the common man to the government so that they can be resolved.
Wife is also associated with Congress
When Jagdish was asked how the BJP candidate withdrew his nomination about the election being held unopposed, he replied that he did not know how it happened. Jagdish told that he has a 6-year-old daughter Khushi and two-year-old son Mahavir. Both are studying now and want to go ahead by reading and writing. Jagdish's wife Babita is also associated with Mahila Congress.
