India's Sri Lanka tour schedule
The Indian team will be seen playing a three-match T20 and an equal number of ODI series on this tour. The T20 series will start from July 27. The second match will be played on 28 and the third match on July 30. At the same time, the ODI series will start on August 2. The second match of this series will be played on August 4 and the third match on August 7. The Indian team will be seen playing under the leadership of Rohit Sharma in the ODI series.
Surya will take over the command of the T20 team.
Suryakumar Yadav has been made the captain for the three-match T20 series. At the same time, Shubman Gill has been given the responsibility of vice-captaincy. This is not the first time that Surya will take over the command of Team India. Earlier, Suryakumar Yadav had captained India in the five-match T20 series against Australia in November 2023 last year. Under his leadership, the Indian team won this series 4-1. After this, he also got a chance to captain against South Africa in December. India tied this series 1-1. Hopefully, he will be able to make India win this series.

Hardik Pandya, who was the vice-captain in the T20 World Cup 2024, was considered as a replacement for Rohit Sharma after he retired from T20 Internationals. However, this did not happen. Suryakumar Yadav was made the new T20 captain for the Sri Lanka tour. Ajit Agarkar responded to this. He said, "Pandya is still one of the most important players for us. We want him to become the player he can become. The skills he has are very difficult to find. However, fitness has been challenging for him. In such a situation, it becomes a bit difficult for the coach, selector, and team management. We have a lot of time before the next T20 World Cup.
