In February of last year, comedian Samay Raina found himself embroiled in a controversy. This occurred during the show India’s Got Latent, when Ranveer Allahbadia made certain remarks regarding parents and intimate, subsequently facing significant criticism.
Recently, Samay announced that he would soon be returning with the second season of the show. Now, RJ Mahvash has revealed that she, too, will be a part of the second season of India’s Got Latent.
RJ Mahvash Confirms the News Herself
During a podcast, RJ Mahvash shared that Samay had personally invited her to participate in the upcoming season of his comedy talent show. She stated, “While we were shooting for a show, Samay asked me if I would appear in the next season of his comedy talent show, and I told him that I would definitely be on the show. I was viewing it from a third-party perspective. I had spoken to Ranveer (Allahbadia).”
Mahvash Stands by Samay
Further defending Samay Raina, Ranveer, and Ashish Chanchlani, Mahvash asserted that she would continue to support them despite the controversy. She remarked, “I didn’t know them personally. To me, Ranveer, Ashish, and all of them were big names. That is why I invited them to my trailer launch, and they all showed up. And for me, that is what true friendship is.”
She went on to add, “No matter how wrong they might be, I will still stand by them. I acknowledge that they were in the wrong, but human beings do make mistakes. Therefore, please stop trolling them now. I say this because I know them as individuals, and they are genuinely good people. They never cross the line, nor do they ever disrespect others.”
What Was the Controversy? In February, Ranveer Allahbadia, Apoorva Mukhija, and Ashish Chanchlani appeared as panel guests on Samay Raina’s show, ‘India’s Got Latent.’ During the show, Ranveer asked a contestant a question regarding parents and intimate, which sparked a massive uproar online. Following this controversy, several FIRs were filed against Ranveer, Samay, Apoorva, and Ashish.
Samay Announces the Second Season
Consequently, Samay removed all episodes of ‘India’s Got Latent’ from YouTube. Later, in April of this year, Samay returned with a comedy special in which he spoke candidly about the anxiety caused by this controversy. He also announced that a new season of ‘India’s Got Latent’ is set to begin soon.
On RJ Mahvash’s Upcoming Work
