
Cyclonic storm Michong has now weakened. India Meteorological Department (IMD) Director General Mrityunjan Mohapatra said that after hitting the coast, Cyclone Michong has gradually started weakening.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a social media post that the administration is working day and night to help the victims in the cyclone-affected areas. Relief and rescue operations will continue until normalcy is restored. Expressing deep sorrow over the deaths due to the cyclone, he expressed deep condolences to their families.

During Zero Hour in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, DMK member TR Baalu raised the issue of Cyclone Michong and demanded that the floods caused by it be declared a national disaster.
