India Meteorological Department (IMD) Director General Mrityunjan Mohapatra said that after hitting the coast, Cyclone Michong has gradually started weakening.

Relief and rescue operations will continue until normalcy is restored. Expressing deep sorrow over the deaths due to the cyclone, he expressed deep condolences to their families.
