The Enforcement Directorate raided 25 locations in Delhi and other locations early today in connection with a case involving the trustees of Al Falah University, associated individuals, and organizations. The operation has been ongoing since 5 a.m.
A team from the investigating agency raided the office of Al-Falah University in Faridabad this morning. The agency team is present on the campus and is searching for various documents, electronic devices, and other important information.
Delhi Police summons the Chairman of Al-Falah University.
Last Monday, the Delhi Police issued two summons to the Chairman of Al Falah University for investigation, forgery, and fraud in the Faridabad terrorist module case. Two cases of forgery and fraud have been registered against the university based on a complaint from the University Grants Commission (UGC).
Crime Branch summoned for questioning.
A senior officer of the Delhi Police Crime Branch stated that the summons were issued after investigators found that Chairman Javed Ahmed Siddiqui's statement was crucial to clarifying several discrepancies related to the institution's functioning and the activities of individuals associated with it. Following serious concerns raised by the UGC and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) on Saturday, the Crime Branch filed two FIRs against the Haryana-based university on the night of November 14th, alleging fraud and forgery.
Officials from the branch stated that both regulatory bodies, after reviewing the university's accreditation claims, identified major irregularities and submitted their findings to law enforcement agencies. The senior officer stated that these FIRs relate to alleged false documents and accreditation claims by the university. The matter is being investigated in detail.
'Issuing summons to Siddiqui part of a broader investigation'
Police sources said the summons to Siddiqui is part of a broader investigation into the ongoing blast near the Red Fort last week. Several suspects in the blast are believed to have ties to the university, forcing investigators to examine institutional records, financial transactions, and administrative approvals. The investigation is ongoing. Both cases are being investigated by separate teams from the Interstate Cell of the police branch.
