Let us tell you that the political controversy started in Delhi over the demand of making the film 'The Kashmir Files' free from entertainment tax in Delhi. Accusing the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government of insulting Kashmiri Hindus, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) workers on Wednesday demonstrated outside the chief minister's residence. Several protesters reached the Chief Minister's residence by removing police barricades and painting some part of the gate with saffron colour. They also damaged the CCTV cameras and boom barriers installed there. Police detained BJYM national president and MP Tejashwi Surya, and other protesters, and took them to the police station, later all were released.
BJYM workers reached the Chief Minister's residence while shouting slogans from near IP College at around one o'clock in the afternoon. Police had put up three barricades to stop the protesters and water cannons were also thrown when they tried to cross them, but BJYM workers crossed them and reached the Chief Minister's residence. Amidst the sloganeering here, some workers started a ruckus. They started painting saffron at the main gate and some activists broke the CCTV cameras and boom barriers installed there. During this, along with the policemen present there, many BJYM leaders were also seen stopping them. Some BJYM leaders, including Surya and former North Delhi Municipal Corporation mayor Jai Prakash, pacified the rioting activists and then all sat on the dharna there. The BJYM workers were demanding an apology from the Chief Minister and other AAP leaders for insulting Kashmiri Pandits.
At the same time, later the police took Surya, BJYM national general secretary and MP Rajeev Bisht, state president Vasu Rukhad and other activists into custody and took them to the special staff office at Delhi University. After keeping there for some time, all were released. On this occasion former Mayor of North Delhi Municipal Corporation Jai Prakash, National Minister of BJYM Tejinder Pal Singh Bagga, and other officials and workers were present.
