Delhi completely failed in resources and preparations to fight Corona, HC told lawyers- We too are going through the same pain

The Delhi High Court has once again pulled the Aam Aadmi Party government during an uncontrollably growing Corona infection in the capital Delhi. The High Court has said that Delhi is a complete failure in resources and preparation to fight Corona. The court said that there are no beds, no oxygen, no doctors, and no nurses, the government's system is a complete failure. The High Court made this comment on the demand for proper treatment of lawyers.

A group of lawyers, including the chairman of the Bar Council of Delhi, Ramesh Gupta, on Friday demanded the High Court to provide medical facility for lawyers suffering from Covid-19, to which the court said the state had completely failed. Advocates wept during the hearing, including senior advocate Gupta. He appealed to the judges to help him as he could not get a medical facility.

A Bench of Justices Vipin Sanghi and Justice Rekha Palli said they are understanding the pain of the lawyers and termed the situation a failure of the state. "We understand your pain," the bench said. We are also going through this. Covid has grown randomly ... no one thought that it would attack us in this way ... There is no issue of money here. The problem is infrastructure.

The court said, "The problem is that we do not have doctors, nurses, oxygen, and medicines." It is a failure of the state as a whole. It is getting harder for us. The court was hearing a petition related to the provision of medical facilities for the lawyers.

Solicitation of Covid-19 beds reserved for judges and lawyers

Significantly, many lawyers on Thursday urged Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to reserve Covid-19 beds for judges, lawyers, and court staff. He said that these people are struggling for beds in hospitals here. The Bar Association of Dwarka court, in a letter to Kejriwal, said that lawyers, court staff, and their families are facing a lot of problems in hospitalization.

The association said that the lawyers, judges, court staff, and their family members are infected and are having trouble getting admitted to hospitals as there is no government hospital in the Dwarka court area which has a population of more than 12 lakhs. Bar Association president Y.P. Singh suggested that the 17,000 beds Indira Gandhi Government Hospital, which has just been completed, should be opened to the public and beds should be reserved for the court staff and lawyers here.

The association also wrote in a letter to Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, "The Honorable Health Minister is urged to intervene in the beginning of the hospital with ICU and ventilators and for lawyers and their families of at least 500 beds judges and their families." 50 beds and 100 beds should be reserved for the court staff and their families. ”

Earlier this week, the Delhi government passed an order to convert 100 rooms of the Ashoka Hotel into a Covid health center for the Delhi High Court judges and other judicial officers and their families. The order was withdrawn after the court denied that it had requested the allocation of a five-star Covid-19 care center for its judges and their families.
