Indore Rain: One and a half hours of heavy rain in Indore spoiled the situation, cars flowed, and school holidays

Heavy rain brought troubles in Indore on Tuesday night. There was water logging in many places in the city and videos of cars flowing in some places have also come to the fore. New mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava also took to the streets. In many areas, the process of heavy rain started again at quarter to one o'clock in the night. Keeping in view the excessive rain, Collector Manish Singh has already declared a holiday in all the schools up to class 12th. Collector Manish Singh has instructed all the school operators that the schools which have started on Wednesday, their operators should ensure that all the students reach their homes safely. Till Wednesday morning, the water level of Yashwant Sagar, the city's largest with a capacity of 19 feet, has reached 19 and a half feet. Three gates of the dam have been opened.

 

The weather in the city was clear since Tuesday morning. It was sunny during the day, and it was also very hot. The weather changed from 7 o'clock in the evening and first drizzle and then heavy rain started. Then it continued to rain intermittently. Around 8:30, it started raining again. It rained heavily for about an hour and a half. This rain has worsened the condition of many areas in the city. In Indore, there was water logging at many places in the western area. Water entered many houses. People were seen pouring out water. The airport's meteorological station has recorded 779.7 mm (30.6 in) of rainfall so far this monsoon season. Releasing the latest status of the ponds, Balram Verma, former in-charge of the Water Works Committee, said that a gate of Yashwant Sagar was opened at 12:30 in the night. After this, when the water flow did not decrease, the second gate was opened at around 3:00 pm. Due to overnight rain, the third gate was opened at 6.30 am. This gate will remain operational till around 12 noon. The airport's meteorological station has recorded 779.7 mm (30.6 in) of rainfall so far this monsoon season. The city has received 4.5 inches of rain in the last 24 hours.

 

The flow was so strong in Prajapat Nagar Ram Mandir Main Road of Dwarkapur area of ​​Indore that two cars were washed away with the driver, one car overturned while drifting. As soon as the driver got out. The residents made videos of the incident, which are becoming fiercely viral. At the same time, the way from Rajiv Gandhi intersection to Bijalpur was also closed. Water was visible on the road. Traffic was disrupted, there was also a jam for a while.

 

After receiving information about water logging in many parts of the city, Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava reached the waterlogged areas of West Zone. Bhargava was accompanied by regional councilors Bablu Sharma and Prashant Barve along with the zone officers of the respective area. Bhargava, after discussing with the officers of all the zones, also gave instructions to go to the places where there is water logging and take charge. Mayor Bhargava had reached Vaishali Nagar, Scheme No. 71, Rajendra Nagar, Dwarkapuri, Vishal Nagar, Nalanda campus. He took stock of the waterlogging situation in various areas due to heavy rains. After meeting the residents, directions have been given to the officers of the corporation.

 

Indore district has received an average rainfall of 29.9 mm so far in the ongoing monsoon season. This figure is 55.65 percent compared to the normal rainfall throughout the year. The district receives 952.20 mm of normal rainfall. According to the land records office, 670.8 mm of rainfall has been recorded in Indore area, 503 mm in Mhow area, 514.8 mm in Sanwer area, 571.9 mm in Depalpur and 389 mm in Gautampura area.

 

According to meteorologists, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Indore division for the next two-three days. There is also a possibility of good rainfall in Dhar, Jhabua, Khandwa, Khargone around Indore city. Monsoon turf extends up to Jaisalmer, Kota, Guna, Jabalpur and North Andaman Sea. Due to this effect, the pressure in the Bay of Bengal is expected to increase. Due to this there is a possibility of rain.
