The rain in Delhi-NCR for three consecutive days has cooled down the heat. Today, for the third consecutive day, the process of rain started at night and continues till early morning. The winds, accompanied by heavy rain, have made the night feel cool.
However, from yesterday morning till noon, there was strong sunshine and sultry heat. In the evening, the weather suddenly took a turn and the rain showers brought relief to the people. 7.2 mm of rain was recorded till 8.30 am and 11.9 mm till 5.30 pm. The rain which started in the afternoon continued till late evening. For the next 24 hours, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert and has predicted rain. At the same time, the process of rain will continue for the next four days.
The Meteorological Department had issued an orange alert for Friday. However, on the contrary, since morning the sun's attitude remained strong and people were in bad condition due to the sultry heat. In the afternoon, the weather took a turn, and rain was recorded with winds blowing at a speed of 20 to 30 kilometers per hour. The game of hiding and seek went on between the clouds and the sun, with the sun rising in between. Meanwhile, the spell of light rain showers also continued.
Due to the change in weather, the maximum temperature reached below 40 for the second time in the last 17 days. Earlier on June 14, mercury was recorded below 40. On Friday, the maximum temperature was three below normal at 36.7 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature was five below normal at 22.8 degrees Celsius. The humidity level in the air was 57 to 96 percent. At the same time, mercury was also recorded below 40 at 11 standard centers in Delhi.
Relief from heat will continue for the next four days
Releasing the forecast, the Meteorological Department has expressed hope of relief from the heat due to rain for the next four days. A yellow alert has been issued for the next 24 hours. With rain in this episode, the maximum temperature can be recorded up to 35 and the minimum temperature is 22 degrees Celsius. However, an orange alert has been issued for the next day. That is, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Delhi on Sunday.
