Delhi-NCR Weather Forecast: Due to the scorching heat and heatwave, many parts of North India including Delhi-NCR are witnessing a drop in temperature today. However, the Meteorological Department says that if the Western Disturbance arrived and the clouds move ahead, there will be a relief for 3-4 days from tomorrow. After that, the temperature will rise again.
Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) senior scientist RK Jenamani said on Monday that the temperature in Delhi has decreased today. The temperature has already dropped by 2-3 degrees celsius at 11.30 am, so we estimate that today's temperature will be 2-3 degrees celsius lower than yesterday.
He said that March was unusual this time in terms of weather. The highest temperature was recorded in entire India in 122 years. At the same time, the third-highest temperature was recorded in April, but northwest India remains the hottest in 122 years. The first 10 days in May were good, so I don't think it will be very unusual this month.
RK Jenamani said that on Sunday, the temperature recorded at some weather stations in Delhi was 46-48 degrees Celsius, which will come down to 43-44 degrees Celsius. For Safdarjung, it will be 42-43 degrees Celsius. If the Western Disturbance comes and the clouds increase, then there will be a relief for 3-4 days from tomorrow. After that, the temperature will rise again.
The meteorologist said that if we look at the climate record of Safdarjung-Palam, Palam recorded the highest temperature of more than 48 degrees Celsius in May and the highest at 47.2 degrees Celsius in Safdarjung. So, I don't think it will grow anymore.
He said that the situation of severe heatwave had reached its peak yesterday. Today, we are seeing a decline of 3-4 degrees in Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, and all these regions. By tomorrow, heatwave conditions will end over a large area. No heatwave will prevail in any area for the next 4 days from the 17th.
