The national capital will remain partly cloudy, with strong dust storms also likely. The maximum and minimum temperatures in the capital are forecast to be 41 and 28 degrees Celsius, respectively. After this, the sky will be clear on Wednesday and Jupiter, but the people of the capital will have to face strong sunlight and heat.

 

Relief will be available for 2 days in the capital Delhi

 

The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for Friday. Sunday was the hottest day for Delhi this season. In Mangeshpur and Najafgarh, the mercury crossed 49 degrees Celsius. Such a temperature has never been recorded in Delhi to date. According to the Meteorological Department, there may be relief from the heat on Monday and Tuesday. Today it will be cloudy in Delhi NCR. There may be a dust storm. Due to this, the temperature is expected to reduce to 41 degrees. But after May 18, the effect of heat will increase once again.

 

Light rain with thunderstorms likely in these states

 

Light rain and thundershowers may occur in some areas of Punjab, Haryana, and North India. There is a possibility of a dust storm in most parts. Dust storms will prevail in the capital Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh. The heat will continue over Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, South Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Delhi. Heatwave conditions will continue over Vidarbha, North Madhya Maharashtra, and Gujarat as well.

 

Know- why the mood of the weather changed

 

According to the Meteorological Department, due to western disturbance, clouds will be seen in the capital. Because of these, gusty winds can also blow. The temperature may come down to 41 degrees, but the minimum temperature may rise to 28 degrees. But this relief will not last long. From May 18, the temperature will start rising once again and it will reach 44 to 45 degrees around May 19 and 20. After this, the effect of Western Disturbance can be seen once again from May 21 and the temperature can reduce to 41 degrees.

 

Chances of getting relief from the scorching heat in Himachal

 

People in Himachal Pradesh are likely to get relief from the scorching heat. According to the Meteorological Department, there may be thunderstorms and hailstorms in the state from Monday. Alert issued for many districts. It may also rain in some places. There was a possibility of a change in the weather on Sunday as well but it did not have an effect. The hottest day of the season was recorded in the state on Sunday.

 

Dust storms and thunderstorms likely to occur in Punjab

 

In Punjab, the temperature crossed 46 degrees Celsius in seven districts on Sunday. Muktsar was the hottest place in Punjab with the maximum temperature hovering above 47 degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department, there can be relief from the heat on Monday. Due to the active Western Disturbance in Himachal, there is a possibility of dust storms and thundershowers with speeds reaching 40-50 kmph in the Majha and Doaba region.

 

Chance of rain in these states today

 

According to the Meteorological Department, there may be heavy rain in Sikkim, West Bengal, Interior Tamil Nadu, and Lakshadweep during the next 24 hours. Apart from this, light rain is likely over Northeast Bihar, parts of Chhattisgarh, and Karnataka. Light rain may also occur over Odisha, South Madhya Maharashtra, Telangana, and the West Himalayan region.
