New Delhi, Feb 8 (IANS) The Delhi assembly elections Saturday saw a voter turnout of 67.14 percent, according to the final figures released by the Delhi chief electoral office.

The provisional figure of turnout released earlier by the chief electoral office Saturday evening was 67.08 percent.

The final data released by the poll office said that the polling percentage had increased marginally to 67.14 percent.

The final figures, which tote up to the highest voter turnout since Delhi's assembly was re-established in 1993 by a constitutional amendment, were complied on the basis of final vote numbers from various booths.

Officials said that people who reached the polling stations before the scheduled closure time are allowed to cast their vote even after 6 p.m.

In 2013 assembly elections, about 66 percent voters cast their ballot.

The exit polls say the Aam Aadmi Party will form the government in Delhi. The results will be declared Feb 10.
