Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday held a digital press conference. During this, he said that more than three lakh people will be given vaccines daily. He also said that the formula for making the vaccine should be made public and the company should get it. He said that the Government of India should also order another company to make the vaccine. Delhi is struggling with a vaccine shortage.
CM Kejriwal said that Corona cases in Delhi are now coming down. The lockdown was also successful with the support of you guys. Just yesterday, 500 ICU hospitals have started in front of GTB Hospital. There is no shortage of ICU and Oxygen beds in Delhi now.
He said that 1.25 lakh people are getting vaccinated every day. Will soon start vaccinating more than 3 lakh people daily. Our goal is to get all the people of Delhi vaccinated within the next 3 months. But we are facing a shortage of vaccines.
Chief Minister Kejriwal said that currently, only 2 companies are producing vaccines. They are producing only 6-7 crore vaccines a month. In this way, it will take more than 2 years for everyone to get vaccinated. By then many waves would have arrived. Vaccine production will have to be increased on a war footing.
This battle cannot be won until every Indian gets vaccinated. I want to make a suggestion today that not only two companies do the work of making the vaccine, but many companies should also be engaged in making the vaccine.
Satyendar Jain said - Corona's peak is over
On the other hand, Health Minister Satyendar Jain said that 66,000 tests were done on Sunday too. Around 80,000 tests are being done every day. It seems that the peak of the second wave is now slowly decreasing. Corona has around 23,000 beds in Delhi, with around 3,500 remaining empty. He said that Delhi's positivity rate has come down from 36 percent to near 19 percent in the last few days. Maximum 28,000 cases were reported daily, now it has come down to 12,500.
