Residents of Delhi and other NCR cities woke up to dense fog on Wednesday, the last day of the year. The thick fog reduced visibility to zero in many areas and on roads, disrupting all modes of transportation.

Due to the dense fog, a total of 148 flights were cancelled at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI Airport) today, while more than 150 flights were delayed. Passengers are facing difficulties due to the flight cancellations.

Along with the biting cold, residents of the capital are also grappling with severe air pollution. Air quality in Delhi-NCR remained very poor today. The average Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi this morning was recorded at 384, which falls in the "very poor" category.

The dense fog in the NCR has affected both rail and air traffic. Vehicles were also seen crawling on highways due to the low visibility.

Meanwhile, Delhi Airport has issued an advisory for passengers due to the dense fog. As mentioned, 148 flights were canceled today, and more than 150 flights were delayed. At railway stations, passengers are waiting for their scheduled trains, as many trains are running late due to the fog and poor visibility.

Flight operations are currently being conducted under CAT III protocol due to the dense fog, resulting in the cancellation of approximately 150 flights.

Delhi Airport stated that its ground teams are on-site and assisting passengers to ensure a smoother travel experience.
