Indian women's team's experienced all-rounder Deepti Sharma has created history during the fifth T20 match against Sri Lanka. Deepti Sharma has become the highest wicket-taker in women's T20 Internationals. Deepti surpassed Australia's Megan in this regard. Deepti now has 152 wickets in 133 T20 matches.

Deepti took only one wicket in the fifth T20 match, but this one wicket was enough for her to achieve this milestone. Deepti dismissed Nilakshika Silva, who became her 152nd victim in T20 Internationals. With this, Deepti became the highest wicket-taker in women's T20 Internationals. Deepti took one wicket for 28 runs in four overs in the fifth T20.

 

 

Deepti is the first Indian to take 150 T20I wickets.

Deepti Sharma had achieved a remarkable feat in the third T20 match against Sri Lanka. Deepti became the first Indian and overall the second player to complete 150 wickets in women's T20 Internationals. Before Deepti, Australia's Meganhad achieved this feat. Deepti continued her excellent performance throughout the series and ended the year by creating history.

 

 

India completes a 5-0 clean sweep in a T20 bilateral series for the third time.

Talking about the match, the Indian women's team continued its brilliant performance and won the fifth T20 match by 15 runs. With this, India won the five-match T20 series 5-0 and clean-swept Sri Lanka. Batting first, India scored 175 runs for seven wickets in 20 overs. In reply, the Sri Lankan team could only score 160 runs for seven wickets in the stipulated overs. This is the first time the Indian women's team has registered a 5-0 victory at home. This is also the third time India has won a T20 series by a 5-0 margin. The Indian team had previously achieved clean sweeps against West Indies in 2019 and Bangladesh in 2024 with the same margin.
