IND vs ENG: 'England will finish the match in 60-70 overs', Anderson is being trolled fiercely for this statement in the second test

India defeated England by 106 runs on Monday, the fourth day of the second Test match played in Visakhapatnam. India had set a target of 399 runs. After this, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin performed brilliantly and bowled out England for 292 runs in 69.2 overs in the second innings. After the defeat of the English team, social media users trolled fast bowler James Anderson fiercely for one of his statements.

 

Anderson had said after the third day's play that England would chase 399 runs in 60-70 overs. After this, on the next (fourth) day, England needed 332 runs to win, but the team kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Jack Crowley played a good innings, but apart from that, no one could survive. Now fans are tagging Anderson and trolling him.

 

A user named Dev Mishra wrote – Anderson himself had predicted the defeat of England a day before. Another user wrote- Overconfidence.

 

What happened in the match?

Talking about the second Test played in Visakhapatnam, the Indian team had scored 396 runs in the first innings thanks to the double century of Yashasvi Jaiswal. In response, the England team was all out after scoring 253 runs in its first innings. India got a lead of 143 runs in the first innings.

 

Team India scored 255 runs in its second innings based on Gill's century and set a target of 399 runs for England. Then India won the match by bundling out the English team for 292. On behalf of India, after Yashasvi and Shubman in batting, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin were also seen in bowling. The third Test will be played in Rajkot from 15 February.
