EL Nino: 'July hottest month in hundreds of years, situation to worsen in 2024', warns NASA scientist

Everyone is worried about the rising temperature of the world. Now a NASA scientist has warned that this problem may increase further. Let us tell you that NASA's climatologist Gavin Schmidt has claimed that July has been the hottest in the last hundreds of years. Based on the data obtained by analyzing the ground and satellite data of the European Union and the University of Maine, NASA experts have made this claim.

Unprecedented changes happening all over the world

NASA expert Schmidt said that we are seeing unprecedented changes around the world. The hot winds blowing in America, Europe, and China are breaking records every day. Schmidt said that the El Nino effect is not the only reason for the increase in the temperature of the world, but the main reason for this is the continuous emission of greenhouse gases into the environment and their lack of reduction.

Although Schmidt also said that the El Nino effect is also a reason, why the temperature is rising. 2023 could be the hottest year in recent years. Although it will be confirmed only after analyzing the data, many scientists are claiming that there is an 80 percent chance of this.

Things will worsen in 2024

Gavin Schmidt warned that things could get worse in 2024. Schmidt said the El Nino effect has just emerged and will peak by the end of this year. There is a possibility of 2024 being warmer due to the effect of El Nino.

What is the El Nino effect and how does it affect the climate?

Under normal conditions, when the trade winds blow in the Pacific Ocean, they carry the warm water on the surface of the Pacific Ocean from South America to Asia via the equator. The cold water from the depths of the ocean comes to the surface instead of the warm water on the surface. This whole process is called upwelling. This process changes in the El Nino effect, which affects the weather all over the world.

During an El Niño effect, the trade winds from the Pacific Ocean slow down, causing warm surface water in the Pacific Ocean to move eastward along the west coast of the United States. Due to this, the strong winds running from west to east, which are called Pacific Jet Stream, go to their neutral place i.e. towards the south. Due to this, the heat increases more than normal in America, Canada. At the same time, there is heavy rain in the countries of America, Arabian Coast, and South East, due to which the incidence of floods increases.
