Demanded a water bottle from the shopkeeper
The shopkeeper has been identified as a 48-year-old Babulal Khimji Chaudhary. Babulal told the police that the incident happened around 10:30 pm. Some people came to the shop and started asking for a water bottle. Everyone had Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) symbols on their clothes.
When the employees working in the shop spoke to them in Hindi, they started arguing. They started abusing the employee and also threatened him for not speaking Marathi. 2 of them came to me and said that whoever works here should know Marathi.
MNS workers threatened
The shopkeeper said, "They also made a video of this incident. I told them that most of the employees in the shop are from other states and they do not know Marathi. In such a situation, they threatened and said that everyone should know Marathi."
Slapped the shopkeeper
In this sequence, the accused asked the shopkeeper that this is Maharashtra and which language is spoken here? On this, the shopkeeper said that all languages are spoken. On hearing this, the MNS people started slapping him.
MNS presented clarification
MNS presented clarification on the matter and said that our workers had gone to the shop to get water. But the shopkeeper was very arrogant and was saying that all languages are spoken in Maharashtra. He had an argument with the workers regarding this.
