All schools and colleges will remain closed today amidst the possibility of heavy rains in Bengaluru.

The Ganges river is in spate in the Purvanchal of UP. The water of the Ganges, which submerged the ghats for two days, has now started entering people's homes. Due to the rise of Ganga in Kashi, people's troubles have started increasing. While the ghats on the banks of the river have been submerged in water, boats have started plying the streets due to the ingress of Ganga water in the colonies built in the coastal area. In the colonies built near Assi Ghat, people have to take the help of boats, while in the Sankat Mochan area also due to the boom in Assi drain, the entire area has been submerged. Water has accumulated around two feet on the roads.

 

A huge crowd gathered to have darshan at Shakumbhari Devi temple in Saharanpur. The vehicles of devotees were standing near the dry drain under the temple when suddenly the flood came and everything started floating in the water. Everyone was surprised by this sudden flood. On receiving the news of the flood, the administration swung into action and evacuated the devotees safely.

 

The water level of the Yamuna river in Uttar Pradesh's Fatehpur has reached above the danger mark, due to which many nearby villages have started submerging in water. Boats started plying in the colonies. However, in Prayagraj, the hope of relief is being expressed by late night due to the stabilization of the Ganges.

 

Flood water entered the Shrikashi Vishwanath Dham complex

 

A flood situation has arisen in Varanasi due to a rise in the water level of the Ganga. Late night, the flood water entered the lower part of the Shrikashi Vishwanath Dham complex. The water that entered through the ramp under construction at Manikarnika Ghat has turned the Jalasena Path and the sewage pumping plant into the water. Cremation is being done on the first floor due to water logging in the Ghodsal building located at Manikarnika Ghat. The bodies are being brought by boat as the road leading to Manikarnika Ghat is flooded. Due to the sinking of Harishchandra Ghat, the cremation has to be done in the street above.

 

Sky disaster in Uttarakhand too

 

In Uttarakhand too, the rain has broken as havoc. People from Joshimath to Tehri were inundated and the SDRF team was called to save them. Due to heavy rains, there was a sudden inundation in the Khachara drain near Joshimath. Amidst the influx, SDRF personnel made human chains and made school girls cross the overflowing drain. Local people also helped in this work. At the same time, the mountains have also started cracking due to the inundation. A massive landslide occurred near Laxmanpuri in Mussoorie, causing debris on the road and closing the road.
