External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held a meeting with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Tuesday. In which he spoke on rising oil prices. Jaishankar told Blinken that we are a $2,000 per capita economy. We are concerned about oil prices. These prices are breaking our backs.

After the meeting, Jaishankar told the media that both countries had a brief discussion on the price cap. At the same time, Blinken said that the issue of oil for developing countries is a matter of deep concern. We are working with partners so that oil revenues do not fuel the Ukraine war.

Biden's defense of the F-16

Antoine Blinken also defended Joe Biden with a $450 million sustainability package for a fleet of F-16 aircraft to Pakistan. Blinken said that we must ensure the maintenance of the aircraft to enhance Islamabad's ability to deal with terrorist threats. Jaishankar had questioned the US-Pakistan relations and said that Islamabad's relations with Washington are not in America's interest.

The Visa backlog will be resolved soon

The US will resolve the visa backlog for Indians in the next few months, said Antony Blinken after meeting S Jaishankar. The External Affairs Minister raised the issue of obtaining visas for Indians to live and work in the United States. Significantly, the waiting period for Indians who want to get a visitor visa in the US has increased to 800 days.
