Shinzo Abe fell to the ground shortly after being shot and was immediately taken to the hospital. He was airlifted, but could not be saved even after all the efforts in the hospital. Doctors say that his heart had stopped working and he was having trouble breathing. He was kept under intensive medical observation, but his health continued to deteriorate. 67-year-old Shinzo Abe was Japan's longest-serving prime minister. He was the PM from 2006 to 2007 and again from 2012 to 2020. His grandfather was also the Prime Minister of Japan and then his father was also the country's foreign minister.
Shinzo Abe's 41-year-old attacker also identified
The police immediately arrested the man who attacked Shinzo Abe. The name of the 41-year-old accused is being told as Tetsuya Yamagami. At the moment, the police are questioning Yamagami. At the same time, the present PM Fumiya Kishida has also announced that this incident will not be tolerated. Yamagami attacked Abe with a shotgun. The attack took place when the former PM was delivering a speech at Yamato Saidaji station in Nara city. Some videos related to the incident have also surfaced.

Shinzo Abe had a great political stature even before becoming the Prime Minister of Japan. As Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary, he also accompanied the then PM on a visit to North Korea.
