After the horrific bridge collapse in Morbi, Gujarat, the Gujarat High Court ordered the Bhupendra government to survey all the bridges in the state. The High Court has asked the state government to ensure that how many bridges are in proper condition. The High Court wants a list of all the bridges, mentioning how many of them are in similar condition. The submitted report needs to be certified and needs to be placed before the High Court.

Gujarat High Court asked to increase the compensation for the Morbi accident

The Gujarat High Court said that after going through the report of the case, we are of the view that the compensation given to the relatives of the dead and injured should be enhanced. The Court observed that even Rs 50,000 as compensation for the injured at this stage is too meager. The details of injuries, hospitalization, and treatment details are not coming out in the interim report.

The accident happened on 30 October

Let us tell you that on October 30, the British-era bridge built on the Machhu river in Morbi, Gujarat, collapsed, and more than 140 people, including 47 children, died. The top court was hearing a plea by a man who lost two of his relatives in the incident, seeking a CBI probe, respectable compensation to those who lost their family members, and fixing of responsibility against the municipal officials Went.
