Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-day visit to Gujarat on the occasion of the 148th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. PM Modi participated in the National Unity Day program in Kevadiya, Gujarat on Tuesday. On this occasion, PM Modi administered the oath of national unity to the country, in which the people present pledged to contribute to the unity, integrity, and security of the country.
The National Unity Day parade was held at the Statue of Unity in Kevadiya. In which police forces from different states first took part. After this, a contingent of Border Security Force participated in the parade. Meanwhile, in New Delhi, President Draupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and many dignitaries paid floral tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his birth anniversary.

Remembering Patel, PM Modi wrote on X-Post, "On the birth anniversary of Sardar Patel, we remember his indomitable spirit, visionary statesman, and extraordinary dedication with which he shaped the destiny of our country. His contribution to national unity "Commitment continues to guide us. We will always be indebted to his service."
Born in Gujarat in 1875, Patel was a lawyer and emerged as a prominent Congress leader and ally of Mahatma Gandhi during the freedom struggle. As the first Home Minister of independent India, he is credited with uniting hundreds of princely states into the federation through his mixture of persuasion and persistence.
President Draupadi Murmu remembered the Iron Man on his birth anniversary
At a special function held at Patel Chowk in the capital, the President, Dhankhar, Shah, and others paid floral tributes to the statue of India's first Home Minister on his birth anniversary, which is also celebrated as 'National Unity Day'.
In a post on 'X', Shah said that the unity and prosperity of India were the sole aims of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's life. Shah said that with his strong willpower, political knowledge, and hard work, Patel had worked to make India, divided into more than 550 princely states, a united nation.
He said on the ' Best wishes to all the countrymen."
Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena and Minister of State for External Affairs Meenakshi Lekhi, among others, were among those who attended the event held at Patel Chowk.
