The third wave of coronavirus continues to wreak havoc in India. There have been more than three lakh cases of corona in the country in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health tried to reduce the fear of the people by holding a press conference. Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan told during a conversation with reporters that India is better prepared to deal with the wave of Corona this time than the second wave. Keeping the figures, he said that in India last year i.e. till 30 April 2021, only two percent of the people had got the vaccine, so with 3 lakh 86 a thousand cases, 3059 people had also died in India. But this time in the third wave, till January 20, 72 percent of the people have received both doses of the corona vaccine. Therefore, even though the number of cases is more than 3 lakh 17 thousand, the death toll is 380.

What is the situation in the world and India due to the wave of Omicron?

The Health Secretary said- Currently the fourth wave of Covid is being seen in the world, 29 lakh cases were registered daily in the world in the last one week. However, the Covid cases in Africa have been declining in the last four weeks. Covid cases have increased in Asia. Cases are also declining in Europe.

Describing the situation in India, he said, "India currently has about 19 lakh active cases, about 2,71,000 cases are being reported daily in the last one week. The positivity rate is 16%. 3,17,000 cases in the last 24 hours." were registered. On January 1, only 22,000 cases were registered."
