IMD Director General Mrityunjay Mohapatra said that the heatwaves running in Rajasthan will increase the temperature in other plains as well. Earlier, the record of 76 years of maximum temperature in Delhi has already been broken. The mercury touched 40.1 degrees Celsius in Delhi on Monday.

In Barmer, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Madhopur, Chittorgarh, Churu, and Palaudi in Rajasthan, the mercury went above 40 degrees on the previous day. The night temperature in these areas is going above 20 degrees Celsius. Madhya Pradesh is feeling hot like May in March itself. The mercury has crossed 40 in 4 cities including Bhopal. On the previous day, temperatures were recorded at 41 degrees in Bhopal, 40.2 degrees in Indore, 40.5 degrees in Jabalpur, and 40.8 degrees in Gwalior. With this, Chhattisgarh is also experiencing a hot summer.
Heat breaks 10-year record in UP, heat also in Himachal
The heat has also caused havoc in Uttar Pradesh. The record for 10 years was broken for the second time in March. The highest heat in Uttar Pradesh was recorded in Jhansi on the previous day. The maximum temperature was recorded at 42.3 degrees. Apart from this, the hill state of Himachal Pradesh is also meditating. The mercury reached 34.3 degrees in Una in Himachal Pradesh and 23.2 degrees in Shimla. It is 6 degrees above normal.
