High Court notice on selling medicines online: Prescription being made without doctor, life should not end in the greed of discount

Like food and clothes, do you buy medicines online for a discount? If yes, then this news is of your use. The Gujarat High Court has issued notice on a writ petition against the online sale of medicines and scheduled medicines.

Justice A.S. Supehiya said in his instruction-

In this matter, the concerned authorities of the Center and the state, file a correct affidavit to deal with all the arguments of the petitioner (who has approached the court against the sale of medicines online).

Customers buying medicines online should be careful because…

E-pharmacy companies prepare the prescription by conducting a call conversation between the customer and the employee.

Prescriptions of medicines are prepared for the customers without even looking at the doctor\'s advice and medical reports.

E-pharmacy also does not have the required license under Section 18 of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940.

There are some medicines that e-pharmacies sell without any prescription. Children below 18 years of age can easily buy such medicines.

E-pharmacy is also openly selling scheduled medicines without any permission.

All the above claims have been made by the petitioner in the Gujarat High Court. The counsel for the petitioner has appealed that such a sale should be banned. Otherwise, it can have a bad effect on people\'s lives.

If you also order medicines online, then know what CB Gupta of Drugs Control Media Services is telling you to keep in mind.

Not only a petitioner, but some time back the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) also demanded a ban on e-pharmacy.

On websites selling online medicines, CAIT had alleged that they were wrongly selling counterfeit and adulterated medicines. These should be tightened. According to CAIT,

In the name of e-pharmacy, these online companies are also selling those medicines, which are not allowed.

In India, many foreign and domestic corporate companies are breaking the rules and regulations while selling medicines through an online pharmacy.

Those who have ordered online medicines at home, they can easily find out whether the medicines are right or not by checking some important things.

According to Dr. Pankajnand Choudhary, Department of Medicine, Max Vaishali, there is no harm in ordering medicines online, but they must be authentic. If the website from where you are ordering medicines is registered then there is no problem in ordering medicines online.

People, who order medicines online are greedy for discounts, from where can they get cheap medicines?

Nowadays, medical stores give 15% to 20% discounts for more sales, so select a shop that gives you more discounts.

You can get cheap medicine from a government hospital.

There are two types of medicines at the medical store, branded medicine, and generic medicine, you can take generic medicine.

The government has opened Jan Aushadhi Kendras in every district for cheap medicine, from where you can get cheap medicine.

Cheap and good quality medicines can also be taken from Amrit Pharmacy of the Central Government.

Now the question arises that how to find out Jan Aushadhi Kendra?

Dr. Balkrishna Srivastava- So far more than 600 Jan Aushadhi Kendras have been opened in the country. In such a situation, you can find out by searching on Google which Jan Aushadhi Kendra is near your house.

Are generic medicines good or not?

Dr. Balkrishna Srivastava- Jan Aushadhi Abhiyan, Government has started to make the public aware. Its purpose is to make people understand that generic medicines are available cheap, but there is no compromise on quality.
