The petitions challenging the hijab ban are being heard by a bench of Justice Hemant Gupta and Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia.

During the hearing, Karnataka Advocate General (Advocate General) Prabhuling Navadgi said that many Muslim mothers and sisters do not wear hijabs. Hijab is banned in countries like Turkey and France, yet Islam is spreading there. Not wearing it does not make a woman less Muslim.

The Advocate General of Karnataka further said that the right to privacy is still evolving. He said the other side has falsely alleged that the state has targeted a particular community. I reject it outright. The state government is running several welfare programs for minority groups.
