Asian Paints Limited, one of India's leading paint manufacturers, has announced its financial results for the second quarter of the 2026-27 financial year (Q2 FY27), along with an interim dividend for shareholders. The company reported a 7.5% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit, while revenue from operations rose 17%.
Asian Paints' consolidated net profit stood at ₹1,067.6 crore in the July-September quarter, compared with approximately ₹993 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. However, profit declined around 30% from ₹1,539 crore reported in Q1 FY27, highlighting the pressure on quarterly performance.
The company also announced an interim dividend of ₹5.75 per share with a face value of ₹1 each. The dividend record date is November 4, 2026, and payment is scheduled on or after November 13, according to published results coverage.
Asian Paints Q2 FY27 Results: What Was the Revenue?
Asian Paints reported revenue from operations of ₹9,954 crore in Q2 FY27, up from ₹8,514 crore in the same quarter of the previous financial year. This represents year-on-year growth of approximately 17%.
Sequentially, revenue declined from ₹10,521 crore in Q1 FY27, a fall of around 5%.
Although revenue growth remained strong compared with the year-ago quarter, higher input costs and supply-chain challenges affected the operating environment. The company said inflationary pressure on raw materials and disruptions linked to geopolitical tensions had a significant impact during the July-September period.
Asian Paints Announces ₹5.75 Interim Dividend.
Alongside its quarterly earnings, Asian Paints declared an interim dividend of ₹5.75 per equity share, each with a face value of ₹1.
Key dividend details are as follows:
Dividend amount: ₹5.75 per share
Record date: November 4, 2026
Expected payment: On or after November 13, 2026
Shareholders should check the company's official exchange filings for the final payment terms and eligibility details.
Domestic Decorative Paints Business Records Growth
Asian Paints reported growth across its domestic businesses during the second quarter.
Its domestic decorative paints business recorded volume growth of 6.4% and value growth of 14.5%. The broader domestic coatings business registered value growth of 16.4%, while volume increased 6.8%.
The industrial coatings segment was a notable contributor, with value growth of 31.8%. These figures indicate that growth extended beyond the decorative paints business, although performance varied across segments.
International Business Revenue Rises, but Profit Falls
Asian Paints' international business recorded year-on-year sales growth during Q2 FY27. Net sales increased to ₹1,095.6 crore from ₹846 crore in the year-ago quarter, representing growth of approximately 29.5%.
In constant-currency terms, international revenue grew 23.7%.
However, higher sales did not translate into stronger profitability. Profit before tax from international operations fell 31% to ₹52.7 crore. This highlights the distinction between revenue growth and the ability to convert sales into profits.
Raw Material Inflation and Supply Disruptions Remain Key Challenges
Asian Paints said inflationary pressures, particularly higher raw-material costs, affected its operating environment in FY27. Supply-chain disruptions associated with geopolitical tensions also affected the availability of materials, with the full impact becoming evident during the September quarter.
Industry-wide cost pressure remains an important factor for paint manufacturers because raw materials form a significant part of production expenses. Companies may respond through pricing adjustments, cost controls and operational efficiencies, although these measures can take time to offset higher input costs.
Reuters reported that Asian Paints' quarterly profit missed analysts' expectations as costs and intensifying competition weighed on performance. The company's year-on-year profit growth should therefore be considered alongside its sequential decline and the challenges facing margins.
