He said that in a country of 130 crore people, only 1.5 crore people pay taxes.

 

 

PM Modi said that new systems, new facilities starting from today, strengthen our commitment to minimum government, effective governance, this is a big step towards reducing the government's interference in the lives of our countrymen. Referring to the reforms, the Prime Minister said, "For us, reform means reforms should be policy-based, not piecemeal, holistic and one reform should be the basis of other reforms, pave the way for new reforms and it is not that one The bars stayed fixed. It is a continuous, continuous process. '

'Honest Taxpayer's Great Role in Nation Building'

 

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the honest taxpayer has an important role in the creation of the nation and when the life of an honest taxpayer becomes easier, if he moves forward then the country develops and progresses. He said, 'There was a time when there was a lot of talk of reforms here. Sometimes some decisions were taken under compulsion, sometimes some decisions were made under pressure, then they were called corrections. Because of this, the intended results were not available. Now both this thinking and reach have changed. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the new platform includes faceless assessment, faceless appeal, and taxpayer's charter.

Announcing the tax charter, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "It has given the assurance of fair, courteous, and rational behavior. That is, the income tax department now has to take care with the respect and sensitivity of the taxpayer. The Prime Minister also called upon the taxpayers to go ahead and pay taxes with honesty. Describing the tax charter as a big step in the development journey of the country, PM Modi said that till now it happens that the tax department of the city in which we live, sees all the things related to tax. Be it scrutiny, notice, survey, or seizure, the Income Tax Department of the same city plays the main role of the Income Tax Officer. He said that the government's effort is to make our tax system painless, faceless. Instead of confusing every taxpayer, work to solve the problem. Everything from painless means technology to rules should be simple.

Till now only the income tax department of the city could investigate, but now any state or city official can investigate. Now this computer will decide which tax to assess. Who will also review, it will now be decided by the computer itself. This will hurt those who misapply or do not pay taxes.

In this event organized through video conferencing, Prime Minister Modi said that now the tax system is becoming faceless, it is giving fairness and trust to the taxpayer. He said that without face-to-face appeals (taxless appeals) facility in tax matters will be available to citizens across the country from 25th September i.e. Deen Dayal Upadhyay's birthday. The Prime Minister said that the honest taxpayer of the country plays a huge role in nation-building, when the life of the honest taxpayer of the country becomes easy, if he moves forward, then the country also develops.
