Jeffrey Gettleman / Suhasini Raj. After America and Brazil, India now has the highest number of deaths due to corona in one day. Things are getting worse in many cities of the country. Most hospitals have been made by Kovid Centers. In such a situation, the treatment of other diseases is becoming difficult. Due to this, many people are dying on the streets. Recently one such incident happened in the capital of the country.
Bijendra Singh, a resident of Delhi, wandered for 15 hours with his pregnant wife. The trip to 8 hospitals, but the wife eventually died due to a lack of treatment. With this statement, you can understand how the situation will happen in other parts of the country.
Bijendra Singh says that when everything was going well before Corona, he planned to buy an apartment in Noida. He works in a printing press while his wife Neelam works in a company manufacturing electric wire. Together they used to earn around 6 lakh rupees in a year. There is a son Rudraksha, who is just 6 years old.
The 9th month of Sapphire's pregnancy began in early June. During this time he also had complaints of high blood pressure, bleeding, and typhoid. During this, she was admitted to a hospital for five days.
On June 5, Neelam woke up at five in the morning when she was having a labor pen. Her husband Bijendra Singh boarded her in an auto-rickshaw and brought her to the hospital. He went to eight hospitals one after the other, but none admitted his wife. Sapphire's pain was increasing. She could hardly breathe, but nobody cared for them. She would repeatedly ask her husband why no doctor was hiring me? What is the problem? If this happens, then I will die.
Bijendra was getting upset. He first arrived at the ESIC Model Hospital in Noida with his wife. Where the doctor told the wife that if she removed the mask from the face, she would slap. They were taken aback. Neelam was having trouble breathing, yet they did not argue. Neelam demanded oxygen and a ventilator from the hospital administration, but the doctor said to go to another government hospital.
After this, Bijendra took his wife to another hospital, where she was not admitted saying that Neelam's condition is bad. They need intensive care, this facility is not available in this hospital. Neelam reached Shivalik Hospital after refusal from here. This was his third hospital, where his treatment started. The doctor gave him oxygen for a while. But Bijendra said he feared a corona infection. The doctor immediately asked him to leave.
Hospital director Ravi Mehta says that we have a small hospital, we did what we could. After leaving here, both of them sat on the rickshaw. Neelam's health started deteriorating, she also stopped talking, sweating heavily from the body, she clung to her husband's hand.
Bijendra says that it was not that the doctors could not help him. But they did not want to. She was not going to mind whether she dies or stays alive. He then went to the fourth hospital, where he sought ventilators. But, the doctor refused to admit, saying that she was about to die, if you want to take her somewhere else. There is no place here. He did not even get an ambulance facility.
After this, Bijendra reached his three other hospitals with his wife. Nobody admitted there too. He then called the police. Bijendra told that two police officers met him and asked to be admitted from the GIMS Hospital Administration, but he was not even listened to.
After being disappointed from here, he reached Max Hospital in Ghaziabad, 25 km away. It was already past noon, more than eight hours had passed since leaving the house. Bijendra hoped that he would meet a new child soon, but he too found disappointment here. Max refused to recruit, saying he had no beds. Troubled Bijendra closed his eyes and said in his heart, God save me.
He then asked the ambulance to come back to GIMS. He gave shoulder support to his wife and said don't give up, everything will be alright. Then Neelam gripped his shirt vigorously.
Eventually, they reached back to GIMS. As Neelam stopped breathing, she was taken to the emergency room. Neelam was declared dead at around 8.45 pm after circling eight different hospitals for 15 hours.
In the preliminary investigation, the hospital administration was found guilty. Neelam was not the first woman to undergo such a period. Earlier such incidents have also happened in Hyderabad and Jammu and Kashmir.
Bijendra says that his son Rudraksha wants to become a doctor. A few days ago he said that Papa, I will become a doctor in the future, so that no other mother is killed.
