Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Indian community in Trinidad and Tobago on Thursday. During this, he called Trinidad and Tobago Prime Minister Kamala Bissessar the daughter of Bihar. Along with this, the PM gave her a special gift. This gift was the holy water of the confluence of Mahakumbh and the Saryu river and a beautiful replica of the Ram temple of Ayodhya.

PM Modi recalled PM Kamala Bissessar's relationship with Bihar and requested her to offer the holy water of Mahakumbh and Saryu river to the Ganga stream of Trinidad.

Prime Minister Kamala is the daughter of Bihar.

PM Modi said, "The ancestors of Trinidad and Tobago Prime Minister Kamala Bissessar used to live in Buxar, Bihar. Kamala ji herself has visited there. People consider her the daughter of Bihar."

He further said, "Earlier this year, the world's largest spiritual fair, Maha Kumbh, was held. I am proud that I have brought the holy water of Maha Kumbh with me. I request Kamala ji to offer this holy water of the Saryu river and Maha Kumbh in the Ganga stream here."

Kamala Prasad-Bissessar also addressed the gathering of Hindustani community. Earlier in 2012, he had visited his ancestral village Bhelupur in Bihar's Buxar district, which falls in Itarhi block.

PM Modi's historic visit

PM Narendra Modi has reached Trinidad and Tobago for the first time on an official visit. He was given a grand welcome at the Piarco International Airport. PM Kamala Bissessar, 38 ministers and four MPs welcomed PM Modi with a guard of honor. This visit is also special because this is the first bilateral visit of any PM Modi to Trinidad after 1999. This visit has taken place on the invitation of Kamala Prasad-Bissessar.
