The box office collection of the action-romantic drama Dacoit is many times lower than that of Dhurandhar 2. Over five days, the film has garnered a box office collection of approximately ₹22 crore. Recently, when Adivi Sesh was asked whether his film Dacoit had suffered any detriment due to Dhurandhar 2, here is what the actor had to say.

Speaking to the Hindustan Times about the impact Dhurandhar 2 might have had on the earnings of Dacoit—which was released in theaters on April 10—Adivi Sesh remarked:

“To be honest, what can anyone really say? I mean, what if Dhurandhar hadn’t been there? What if the two-month-long IPL tournament hadn’t been happening right now? Or, what if Kantara and Vikram hadn’t released on the very same day that Major did?”

Adivi Sesh further added, “However, this film has had a truly magnificent destiny, and right now, I am simply filled with gratitude.” It is worth noting that in 2022, Adivi Sesh’s film Major faced a box office clash with Kamal Haasan’s Vikram. Both films went on to perform well commercially.

Adivi responds to claims, labeling the film a ‘blockbuster.’

His latest film, Dacoit, has already garnered a worldwide collection of around ₹40 crore. Citing these figures, the filmmakers have begun declaring the movie a ‘blockbuster.’ This has prompted some to question whether such celebrations are perhaps a bit premature. Responding to this, Adivi stated, “People might wonder, ‘How can they do that?’ But ultimately, I will tell you just one thing: everything associated with our film has been created with absolute sincerity and honesty.”
