However, many subscribers still do not know the correct methods to check their PF balance online or offline. Here are four easy ways to check your EPF balance quickly.

3. Check PF Balance Through SMS

EPFO also allows members to check their PF balance without internet access.

SMS Format for PF Balance

Send the following message from your registered mobile number:

EPFOHO UAN LAN

Send it to:

4. Check PF Balance Through Missed Call

If you do not want to use the internet, app, or SMS service, you can simply give a missed call.

The call disconnects automatically after two rings.

Within a few seconds, you will receive an SMS containing:

The missed call must be made from the mobile number registered with your UAN account.

Why Is Your PF Balance Not Showing?

Many EPFO users complain that their PF amount does not appear even after trying multiple methods.

There can be several reasons behind this issue.

Common Reasons Why PF Balance Is Not Visible

UAN Not Activated

If your Universal Account Number (UAN) is not activated, you may not be able to access your passbook.

eKYC Not Completed

If Aadhaar, PAN, or bank account details are incomplete or not verified, EPFO services may not function properly.

Member ID Not Seeded

Sometimes the system displays “Member ID not seeded,” which prevents passbook access.

Technical Updates or Server Issues

EPFO portals occasionally undergo maintenance or technical upgrades, causing temporary service disruptions.

Employer Contribution Delay

If your employer has not deposited recent contributions yet, the updated balance may not appear immediately.

Benefits of Regularly Checking PF Balance

Monitoring your PF account regularly helps employees:

Verify monthly employer contributions

Track retirement savings growth

Detect errors early

Ensure KYC details are updated

Plan long-term finances better

Financial experts recommend checking your EPF passbook at least once every few months.
