IND vs AUS: Nitish emerged as the hope of the Indian team in Australia, impressed with aggressive batting even under pressure

When young all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy was selected for the Australia tour, no one had any idea that he would become the most useful all-rounder for the team on this tour. Before coming to Australia, his career in first-class cricket was also good. He bats in the lower order and in such a situation he does not get many opportunities to play big innings. Despite this, he has been successful in doing well in first-class cricket. He has scored 942 runs in 25 first-class matches which includes a century and two half-centuries. His best score has been 159 runs. Apart from this, he has taken 58 wickets in the same number of matches. His best score in an innings is five wickets for 53 runs, while his best performance in a match is eight wickets for 119 runs.

 

Innings played aggressively attracted attention.

 

The team's assistant coach Ryan Ten Doeschate has also praised Nitish. He said, Reddy has done everything that a young player can do in such a short time and we feel that he has a lot of potential. It is very difficult to play fast bowlers on the Australia tour, but he was not seen struggling against any bowler. He also targeted the team's experienced spinner Nathan Lyon and hit three fours off his eight balls.

 

In the second Test, Starc bowled the ball a little outside to play a shot and Reddy sent the ball across the boundary. 21-year-old Reddy started playing professional cricket only four years ago. The team management is betting on him given plans. Hardik Pandya is playing less in red-ball cricket while Shardul Thakur is not fit due to being 33 years old. Reddy has been outplaying aggressive shots in three out of four innings on the Australia tour. In Australia, the runs of the lower-order batsmen play a very important role for the visiting team. Kohli, who ended his 16-month century drought with a century in the first Test in Perth, was dismissed behind the wicket in both innings in the pink ball Test. He was caught at second slip in the first innings and caught behind the wicket in the second innings. Star Indian batsman Kohli practiced with full enthusiasm. He was cautious at the beginning of the net session, but then gradually got into rhythm. Lokesh Rahul looked more calm. He focused more on his defense while Rishabh Pant played some pickup shots.
