Google Pixel 11 Price Hike Confirmed: Pixel 11 Series to Cost More Due to RAM Shortage; Existing Pixel Phones Also Get Costlier Ahead of August 12 Launch

Posted on 27th Jul 2026 04:05 pm by rohit kumar

Google is preparing to unveil the Pixel 11 smartphone series on August 12, 2026, but buyers may have to pay significantly more this year. The tech giant has confirmed a price hike across the Pixel ecosystem, citing soaring RAM costs and supply chain challenges as the primary reasons behind the increase.

The announcement suggests that not only the upcoming Pixel 11 lineup, but also existing Pixel smartphones and Pixel Watch models, could soon become more expensive.

Why Is Google Increasing Pixel 11 Prices?

According to Shakil Barkat, Google's Vice President of Devices and Services, the global RAM supply crunch has sharply increased production costs.

Google revealed that the price of 1GB RAM has jumped from around $2.80 in 2025 to nearly $12 in 2026, marking an increase of more than four times. The company said it had absorbed these higher costs for a long time but can no longer continue doing so.

Pixel 11 Pro Could Get Less RAM

To offset rising manufacturing expenses, Google is reportedly planning several changes:

Pixel 11 Pro may launch with 12GB RAM instead of 16GB.

Pixel 11 Pro price could increase by up to $100 (around ₹8,300).

Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel 11 Pro Fold are also expected to become more expensive.

Older Pixel Phones and Pixel Watch Also Affected

The price revision won't be limited to the Pixel 11 series. Google has confirmed that the increase will extend across the entire Pixel product family, including:

Existing Pixel smartphones

Pixel Watch smartwatches

Other Pixel ecosystem devices

This means consumers planning to purchase current Pixel devices may also face higher prices in the coming weeks.

Pixel 11 Launch Date

Google is scheduled to officially unveil the Pixel 11 series on August 12, 2026. Along with the new smartphones, the company is expected to introduce AI-powered software upgrades and new hardware features, although official pricing will only be revealed during the launch event.
