In the first inning, the wicketkeeper-batsman played a strong inning of 90 runs, while in the second inning also Dhruv remained unbeaten after scoring 39 runs. Dhruv has achieved that feat in the Ranchi Test, which no wicket-keeper batsman has been able to do in the last 22 years.

Dhruv Jurail got the reward for batting brilliantly in both the innings of the fourth test. Dhruv was adjudged man of the match in the Ranchi Test. Dhruv is the first Indian wicketkeeper in the last 22 years to be selected Man of the Match in the debut series. Before Dhruv, Ajay Ratra had done this feat for India in the year 2002. Ajay won the Man of the Match award in the fourth Test match of his debut series against West Indies.

The Indian team defeated England by 5 wickets in the Ranchi test match. Team India achieved the target of 192 runs by losing 5 wickets. On behalf of the team, Shubman Gill played a brilliant inning of 52 runs, while Dhruv Jurail played an unbeaten inning of 39 runs.
