A 5-Test series will begin between India and England on June 20. Before this series, bad news has come out for Team India. Indian team head coach Gautam Gambhir has returned home. He has informed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that he is returning home from England due to 'personal reasons'.

The Indian team will play an intra-squad match from today. In the absence of Gambhir, the support staff will oversee the intra-squad game. Gambhir has informed the BCCI that he is returning home due to personal reasons. He will join the team soon. He will not be in the intra-squad game and the support staff will look after the preparations before the Test series. In fact, on the night of June 11, coach Gautam Gambhir's mother had a heart attack. Gambhir reached Delhi yesterday evening. His mother is now out of danger.

Gambhir will go back to England on the 17th before the first Test. Sitashu Kotak is the batting coach of the Indian team, Morne Morkel is the bowling coach, T Dilip is the fielding coach and Ryan Ten Doeschate is the assistant coach. The entire Indian team is currently preparing for the Test series in England. On Thursday, Gambhir had appealed to the young team led by Shubman Gill to get out of their comfort zone.

Gambhir had said in a conversation with BCCI TV, "This tour can be seen in 2 ways. First, we are without our 3 most experienced players or we have got this opportunity to do something special for the country. When I look at this team, I see hunger, passion, and commitment to do something special. If we come out of our comfort zone, if we start challenging not every day but every session, every hour, and every ball, then I think we can make it a memorable tour."
