Team India under the leadership of Rohit Sharma has made a bang in the three-match ODI series against West Indies. In the first match, the hosts took a 1-0 lead in the series after thrashing Windies by 6 wickets in a one-sided fashion. Captain Rohit was the top scorer in the first match and he played a wonderful inning of 60 runs. This is Rohit's 44th half-century in ODIs. He hit 10 fours and a six in 51 balls. Rohit has had a great performance in ODIs as an opener so far and he is at the top of the list of batsmen with the most runs in ODIs as an opener. His record is from 2013 till now.

Rohit, popularly known as 'Hitman', has scored 7269 runs in ODIs since 2013, more than the batsman of any team. He has an average of 58.62 during this period. Shikhar Dhawan of India is at number two on this list. Since 2013, Dhawan has scored 6205 runs in ODIs as an opener, with a strike rate of 47.00. South African opener Quinton de Kock is at number three with 5500 runs at an average of 46.61. At the same time, Australia's Aaron Finch (5212 runs at an average of 46.61) is at number four and Hashim Amla (4892 runs at an average of 44.88) is at number five.

Team India will go to win the series under the captaincy of Rohit

Hosts India is set to play the second ODI against West Indies at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, where they are eyeing a series win. The good thing for India before the second match is that KL Rahul and Kuldeep Yadav are available for team selection. In such a situation, he can be included in the playing XI.
