India -Thailand Ties: 9th India-Thailand Joint Commission meeting to be held in Bangkok today, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will attend

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar arrived in Bangkok on Tuesday to attend the 9th meeting of the India-Thailand Joint Commission. India and Thailand are celebrating 75 years of establishment of diplomatic relations.

 

Indian Embassy in Thailand wrote on Twitter, "Indian Ambassador to Thailand Suchitra Durai welcomed Hon'ble External Affairs Minister @DrSJaishankar, who is visiting Thailand for the 9th India-Thailand Joint Commission Meeting."

Dr. Jaishankar wrote in a tweet that he started his tour of Thailand with the Indian community. He shared with them the achievements and aspirations of New India and welcomed their enthusiasm to contribute to India's progress. He also thanked the Indo-Thai Chamber of Commerce (ITCC) for organizing the event.

 

Also, today (August 17) in Bangkok, S Jaishankar will meet his Thai counterpart Don Pramudwinai. The meeting will be held at Bangkok's Shangri-La Hotel from 09:00 am to 11:45 am and will be hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand. According to a release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, Jaishankar and Don Pramudwinai will jointly chair the ninth Thailand-India Joint Commission.

 

After the meeting, both sides will be present for the signing of two MoUs between Thailand and India, the first, 'Memorandum of Understanding on Health and Medical Medical Research Cooperation' will be organized by the Department of Medical Services. 'Memorandum of Understanding for Cooperation and Cooperation on Broadcasting' between the Ministry of Public Health of Thailand and the Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Indian Council of Medical Research of India, and the second Thai Public Broadcasting Service and Prasar Bharati, India.

 

Let us inform you that the 8th Joint Commission Meeting (JCM) was held on 10 October 2019 in New Delhi.
