India will not tolerate attempts to change LAC: Foreign Minister warns China in Rajya Sabha

Today is the second day of the winter session of Parliament. On the first day of the session, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar gave a blunt message to China. He said that India will not tolerate China's attempt to unilaterally change the Line of Actual Control (LAC). The Foreign Minister said these things during the statement on India's foreign policy in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday. In the House, he warned China that if the Chinese army continues construction work on the border, it will have a serious impact on both countries, which will not be normal.

 

Buying oil from Russia depends on the market

The Foreign Minister said that the issue of former naval officers in Qatar is a very sensitive matter. Their interest is our priority. According to Jaishankar, India is in constant touch with the Ambassador and senior officials of the Qatar government. Apart from this, in the matter of purchasing crude oil from Russia, he said that we do not ask our companies to buy Russian oil. We ask them to buy whatever is the best option for them. It depends on the market, it is a sensible policy where we get the best deal in the interest of the Indian people.

Dhankhar reminded the judiciary of Lakshman Rekha

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has once again targeted the Supreme Court. In his first address as Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Dhankhar raised the issue of the National Judicial Appointments Act (NJAC). He said that the 99th Constitutional Amendment Bill for the bill was passed by both the Houses of Parliament in 2014. This bill was rejected by the court in 2015. The Vice President termed it a serious compromise with parliamentary sovereignty.

 

He said- This is disrespectful to the mandate, whose guardians are the Upper House (Rajya Sabha) and the Lok Sabha. He said that a law passed by Parliament, which reflected the will of the people, was struck down by the Supreme Court and the world was not aware of any such move. It is a matter of concern that this very important issue has not received the attention of the Parliament. This law was about giving more powers to the government in the appointment of judges.

 

Government has adopted the policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism – Nityanand Rai

In the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai said that there has been a lot of improvement in the security system in Jammu and Kashmir. Government Union Personnel Minister has adopted a policy of zero tolerance against terrorism. According to the Union Minister, there has been a steady decline in terrorist attacks from 2018 to 2021. There were 417 attacks in 2018 whereas in 2021 there have been 229 attacks. He also informed that from January 2022 to November 30, 2022, 14 minorities including 3 Kashmiri Pandits were killed in Jammu and Kashmir.

 

Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary's mic stopped during their speech at Lok Sabha

On the first day of the session, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary was speaking. During this, his mic went off. The Congress alleged that Adhir Ranjan's mike was deliberately switched off. Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary alleged that by ending the tradition of Parliament, all the facilities are being snatched from the opposition. All the standing committees have been taken away from the opposition. He questioned why this is happening.

 

56 CBI cases registered against MPs and MLAs

The Union Personnel Ministry told the Lok Sabha on Wednesday that from 2017 to October 2022, the CBI registered 56 cases against MPs and MLAs. Out of these, CBI has filed a charge sheet in 22 cases. The maximum number of cases (10) are from Andhra Pradesh. 6-6 cases have been registered from UP-Kerala, 5 from Bengal, 3-3 from Delhi-Bihar, 1-1 from MP, and Chhattisgarh.

 

PM's appeal before the winter session - let the house run

PM Modi spoke to the media on the first Wednesday of the winter session of Parliament. He appealed to the leaders of all parties to allow the proceedings of the House to go on. Carry on discussions without noise and interruptions. After paying homage to the 15 deceased, the Lok Sabha was adjourned till noon.

 

Before the start of the session, the PM said, 'Let us give maximum opportunities to the young MPs who have come to the House for the first time for their bright future. Participate in discussions. I have met MPs of all parties in the past. They say one thing, the House is adjourned. Due to a lack of discussion, we remain untouchable from what we want to learn and understand. That's why the functioning of the House is very important. This is the demand of all young parliamentarians. The opposition is also demanding that we do not get a chance to speak in the debate. We suffer a lot.

 

The session will end on December 29

This session will be for a total of 23 days, in which there will be 17 sittings. On this occasion, the government will present a total of 16 bills. Here, the opposition is making a strategy to discuss a new issue every day during the session. It is believed that the issue of women's reservation may again arise in Parliament during the session.

 

Apart from this, the opposition can surround the Center on the Morbi incident, inflation, unemployment, the appointment of Election Commission Arun Goyal, and the collegium system on the appointment of judges. The proceedings of the House will end on December 29.
