A man accused of murder was publicly executed on Wednesday in Afghanistan\'s Farah province. A Taliban spokesman confirmed that the perpetrators of the assassination had been executed in front of a crowd of thousands at the sports stadium. This is the first case of public execution after the Taliban regained power in Afghanistan.

According to a BBC report, the man accused of murder was shot three times with an assault rifle by the father of the deceased in a packed stadium, killing him. Many Taliban leaders were present to see this punishment given in public. Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said that Supreme Court judges, military officers, and several senior ministers had also come to see the death sentence.

committed a crime five years ago

The incident for which the person from Herat province was sentenced to death by the Taliban happened five years ago. In this, a person named Tajmeer killed a person from Farah province and stole his motorcycle and his phone. The family members of the deceased complained about the accused, after which he was arrested by the Taliban.

Last month, the Supreme Leader of the Taliban announced the death penalty.

Taliban Supreme Leader Haibatullah Akhundzada made an announcement last month. All the judges ordered that the culprits should be punished publicly. However, so far the Taliban has not officially told what punishment will be given for any crime.

The trend of public punishment is back

The practice of public executions has returned since the Taliban took over Afghanistan. On 24 November, the Taliban beat 12 people accused of moral crimes in front of a crowd of thousands in a football stadium. Among these 12 people, 3 women were also included. According to a Taliban official, these people were accused of theft, adultery, and gay intimate. This was the second time in November that the Taliban had punished people in a public place for a crime.

Last month 19 people got such a punishment

According to the report of BBC, in November, such a case also came to light in the Takhar Province of Afghanistan, in which 19 people were punished publicly. In Nuristan province, a woman was beaten for listening to music. All these punishments are being given according to Sharia law.

Know, what is the Sharia law of Afghanistan

The Taliban had indicated in the press conference after overtaking Afghanistan that Sharia law would apply to many issues in the country. Sharia is like a legal system for the people who believe in Islam. There are laws on many big issues ranging from everyday life. Sharia is mentioned in the Quran, the holy book of Islam, as well as in the Sunna and Hadith, the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad. The offenses under these laws are considered to be directly defying God. Sharia law describes the way of life.

Violation of Sharia is punished severely

All Muslims are expected to live their lives according to these laws. Sharia law governs every aspect of a Muslim\'s daily life, including what to do and what not to do. Sharia includes laws related to family, finance, and business. Drinking, using, or smuggling drugs is one of the biggest crimes under Sharia law here. When a person breaks this law, it is considered a crime against God. This is the reason why there are strict punishment rules for these crimes.
