The event is being held on the 70th anniversary of its formation. During the visit, he will attend the Western Pacific Naval Symposium (WPNS) as the head of one of the Observer Navies. It will be hosted by Japan with the current chairman of WPNS.
Admiral Hari Kumar will also participate in the inauguration of the multilateral Malabar Pre-Naval Exercise to be conducted at Yokosuka by the navies of Australia, Japan, and the US. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Malabar exercise.
