Indian Railways News: Will trains start from May 4? Know the railway's future strategy

The country has a lockdown from April 15 to May 3 to prevent the outbreak of Corona virus. During this time, trains and air travel are at a standstill. The question is arising in the mind of the common man whether the trains will be operational before May 3. There are speculations that even after the end of the 40-day lockdown in India, the ban on train travel can continue even after May 3, meaning that train travel cannot be done from May 4 onwards.

The 40-day lockdown on the rising infection of the corona in the country is going to end on 3 May. In such a situation, the big question is whether the railways will start operating trains from May 4 or not. However, the Railway Ministry has not given any official information on this yet, nor has the booking of tickets started yet.

According to the information received, a few days ago, there was a meeting held at his house under the chairmanship of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on resuming the rail journey. There was no discussion on any particular date about when the train journey will start. Right now, it would be fair to say that it will take a long time. It will definitely go ahead from May 3. At the same time, after the lockdown, the demand of transporting the stranded people to their homes has started increasing rapidly. In such a situation, the government is trying to bring people trapped in lock-downs to their homes. The railway is its biggest medium, so the railway is also ready on its behalf. If the green signal is received from the central government, then some special trains can be run in the green zone. However, the railway has not officially confirmed this.

It is worth noting that during the lockdown the railway is operating parcel trains across the country, so that supplies of essential things can be made. The railways have transported 1,150 tonnes of medical supplies, including medicines, masks, hospital related things, during the lockdown. Indian Railways gave this information Railways said that during the Corona virus crisis, these goods were transported through its punctual parcel services to arm the government. Northern Railway carried the largest amount of 400 tons of goods. This is followed by Western Railway (328.84 tonnes) and Central Railway (136 tonnes). On one hand, Railways is playing an important role in the transportation of essential goods, on the other hand it is also providing medical help to the people in times of need.
