India's export-import in February: The country's merchandise exports grew by 22.36% in February, the trade deficit was $ 21.19 billion

India's merchandise exports grew 22.36% to $33.81 billion in February. A year ago i.e. in February 2021, it was $ 27.63 billion. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry released these figures on Wednesday. At the same time, imports stood at $ 55.01 billion in February 2022, which is about 35% more than $ 40.75 billion in February 2021.

 

Exports up 45.80% in 11 months

 

India's merchandise exports stood at $374.05 in April 2021-February 2022.

This is a 45.80% increase from $ 256.55 in April 2020-February 2021.

Merchandise exports stood at $291.87 billion in April 2019-February 2020.

In comparison, there is an increase of 28.16% in 2022.

Imports up by 59.21%

 

India's imports stood at $550.12 billion in April 2021-February 2022.

This is a 59.21% increase from $345.54 billion in April 2020-February 2021.

Merchandise exports stood at $443.24 billion in April 2019-February 2020.

In comparison, there is an increase of 24.11% in 2022.

 

Merchandise exports were up 25.3% in January

 

Earlier in January, merchandise exports grew 25.3% on a year-on-year basis but fell 8.7% to $34.5 billion compared to December 2021. While imports grew 23.5% year-on-year but fell 12.8% to $51.9 billion as of December 2021.

 

Trade deficit $21.19 billion in February 2022

 

On a year-on-year basis, the trade deficit stood at $21.19 billion in February 2022. Whereas during April 2021-February 2022 it was $ 176.07 billion. Earlier in January 2022, on a year-on-year basis, the trade deficit stood at $17.42 billion.
