In most countries including India, there is a decline in the cases of the corona. However, research is going on around the world on how this virus destroys our immunity. Recently, two studies published in the journal Nature Communications say that corona and its variants play hide and seek with our immune system.
Corona hides in different parts of the body
Scientists from the University of Bristol in the UK and the Max Planck Institute for Medical Research in Germany have done these two studies. They have found that corona hides in different parts of our bodies. Due to this our immune system is not able to catch the virus easily.
Along with this, the medicines given to the patient during treatment are also difficult to find corona. Researchers believe that virus particles hidden in the body get involved in making new variants.
There can be many corona variants in the body simultaneously
University of Bristol researcher Dr. Kapil Gupta says that many corona variants can be present simultaneously in the body of an infected patient. Some of these variants also hide in organs such as the kidney. In such a situation, our immune system fights against the dominant variant in the body but is unable to find the hidden variants.
The virus tries to become invisible in the body
Professor Dr. Oscar Stoffer of the Max Planck Institute says that inside the body the virus bends its spike protein down. (The virus enters the body only through the spike protein.) By doing this, it tries to become invisible. This boggles our immune system.
By the time the immune system can catch the corona, the virus has multiplied and spread its infection comfortably. This process is followed by all variants, not only the original form of the coronavirus.
