India's astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla has returned to Earth on Tuesday. His crew also returned with him. This mission of Shubhanshu is very important for India. This is because India has prepared to send the Gaganyaan mission into space. This mission will be India's first unmanned mission.

Shubhanshu Shukla is the first Indian to have set foot on the International Space Station. Earlier, astronaut Rakesh Sharma had traveled to space 41 years ago. Shubhanshu has conducted 7 tests while on the ISS. The results of these tests and Shubhanshu's experience will be used in Mission Gaganyaan.

PM Modi called Shubhanshu's success a milestone.

Welcoming Shubhanshu, Prime Minister Modi said that as India's first astronaut to the International Space Station (ISS), he has inspired billions of dreams with his dedication, courage, and pioneering spirit.

The Prime Minister said, "This is another milestone in the direction of our human space flight mission Gaganyaan."

Shubhanshu's experience will help ISRO's Gaganyaan mission.

Nilesh M. Desai, Director, ISRO's Space Application Center, said, "The experience gained by Shubhanshu Shukla during his time spent on the International Space Station will be very important for the Gaganyaan mission scheduled in the next two years. It has been an unforgettable experience for him (Shubhanshu). He conducted many experiments on the space station."

After experiencing space and microgravity, he also conducted many scientific tests. This mission has been a great learning opportunity for us. ISRO launched this mission to gain experience that will help us in the Gaganyaan mission. - Nilesh M. Desai, Director, Space Application Center, ISRO

He further said that the Gaganyaan mission will begin with an unmanned flight later this year. He said, "We will launch an unmanned mission this year, followed by two more unmanned flights. After this, an Indian astronaut will be sent to space through Gaganyaan. He will be in space for two to seven days and then return to Earth."
