Amidst the Lok Sabha elections, there is political turmoil regarding inheritance tax (division of property). PM Modi is continuously targeting Congress and Rahul Gandhi by mentioning inheritance tax in his election rallies.

BJP alleges that if Congress comes to power, the government will take over half the property of the countrymen. Let us tell you that in the manifesto of Congress, it was talked about conducting economic and caste surveys at the national level. Congress said that steps would be taken based on the information received from this survey.

Only about 12 crore people have assets worth more than Rs 102 crore: Gautam Sen

Meanwhile, economist Gautam Sen, while talking to news agency ANI, said that the scheme of distribution of wealth is not going to work in India. He said that only about 12 crore people have assets worth more than Rs 102 crore. But almost all of them have invested in their businesses. At the same time, due to the distribution of property, the lives of 98 to 99 percent of the people of the country will be adversely affected.

Modi government has made the lives of the poor better: Gautam Sen

Gautam Sen further said, "If the people who run shops and do small businesses in the country are divided, the country's economy will stop. To distribute the country's wealth, you will have to conduct a survey every two years. In the last 10 years, we can see a real distribution of wealth, where roads were built in the country, toilets were built, and gas subsidies were given.

Let us tell you that Congress has been continuously saying that there is no mention of the distribution of property in the party's manifesto. However, there is talk of conducting economic and caste surveys in the manifesto, which BJP has made an election issue.
