Investment in trouble: India's 23 thousand crore rupees trapped in Afghanistan, how will terrorists recover from Taliban

A decade ago, when India and Afghanistan jointly signed that agreement, in which every help would be given from India to create Afghanistan, then it was not known that after a decade only about 23 thousand people of India Projects worth crores of rupees will get caught in this agreement. Now the situation is that India had invested billions of rupees in many schemes including dams to schools, from powerhouses to roads, from Kabul's Parliament to power infra projects and health sector, to build Afghanistan. Now under Taliban control. The question is, what will happen to India's huge investment in Afghanistan now, this is also a matter of biggest concern now. Experts say because the Taliban are in power in Afghanistan. In such a situation, the authority of that country will decide what kind of relationship they want to have with other countries and what framework will have to be prepared for development.

How the Taliban captured the coup in Afghanistan, the lines of concern on India's forehead are more than other countries of the world. Foreign affairs expert Dr. LN Rao says that India's closeness with Afghanistan was also the biggest concern for Pakistan. Because India had too much interference in its neighboring country Afghanistan. Which forced Pakistan to remain under pressure from India. Dr. Rao says that under the strategic agreement, India has not only invested about Rs 23000 crore to build Afghanistan but has also helped a lot to run the economy of Afghanistan. Now with the Taliban taking power, all these projects and investments in the economy are stuck in the middle. Foreign affairs expert Dr. Rao says that now it is too early to say anything about what will happen next.

The bigger question is whether the Taliban is declared a terrorist organization. In such a situation, coming to power of a terrorist organization and then running the stalled plans with it is certainly a very complicated process not only for India but for all the countries of the world that keep the Taliban in the category of a terrorist organization.

Foreign affairs expert Professor Shirin Kuril says that unless the power in Afghanistan is elected through constitutional means through elections, then there are bound to be big challenges for the countries with a democratic system in the world. He says that for India, the capture of the Taliban is in the whole of Afghanistan is very worrying not only from the business point of view but also from the strategic point of view. Professor Kuril says that it is not a problem for any country to make any business deal with a constitutionally formed government or agreements that establish that country.

In such a situation, now India will have to wait for an elected government to be formed in Afghanistan to pursue any matter on its 23000 crore rupees stranded project. If this is not possible, then India does not seem to be getting any return for whatever it has invested so far. Professor Kuril says this return is not necessarily under the financial system. This return is also met in many other ways in strategic matters. Now that the power is with the Taliban, in a way, the ball is in their court, how they convert their power into a democratic system and how the whole world adopts them.

This is India's investment in Afghanistan

The Salma Dam is being constructed in the Herat state of Afghanistan. It is a hydropower project with a capacity of 42 MW. In Afghanistan itself, more than 200 km long Zaranj Delaram Highway is also being constructed by the Border Road Organization. Foreign affairs experts say that this project passes close to the Iran border. India is getting this project ready for $147 million. India built the Parliament of Afghanistan at a cost of about $ 92 million. An agreement was reached in the UPA government under the Government of India and the Aadhar Card Development Network, in which the Stor Palace, which kept Afghanistan's existence intact, was renovated. Apart from this, India has commissioned a 220 KVA power infra project at Pul-e-Khumri in Afghanistan.

India invested in a better telecommunication system in Afghanistan. India has also been helping Afghanistan for the past several decades with health and infrastructure. India built hospitals in many cities of Afghanistan like Badarkhashan, Kandahar, Khost, Kunar, and Nuristan. More than 600 small and big buses and more than 300 military vehicles, including hundreds of ambulances, were also provided to Afghanistan for transportation. To strengthen Afghanistan, many such projects are not only underway from India but were also in the pipeline in the coming years.
