IOC session 2023: 140th meeting of the International Olympic Committee will be held in Mumbai, India will host after 40 years

The 140th meeting of the International Olympic Committee will be held in Mumbai. During the 139th Olympic Committee meeting held in Beijing on Saturday, India won the right to host the next meeting. During this time no country opposed India. Now in 2023, India will host the meeting of the Olympic Committee for the second time, while this meeting will be held in Mumbai for the first time. Earlier this meeting was organized in Delhi in 1983.

 

 

Abhinav Bindra, Narinder Batra, and Nita Ambani attended the 139th meeting of the International Olympic Committee from India. Abhinav is the first player from India to win a gold medal in a singles event at the Olympics. While Batra is the President of the Indian Olympic Association, Nita Ambani is a member of the Indian Olympic Committee. India's Sports and Youth Minister Anurag Thakur also attended the meeting. The Olympic Committee meeting will be held in the summer of 2023 at the Jio World Convention Center in Mumbai.

All members attend the annual meeting of the IOC. This is the largest meeting of the International Olympic Committee and the decisions taken in it are unanimous. Usually, the IOC meets once a year, while the chairman of the committee may, if necessary, convene a meeting by giving written invitations to at least one-third of the members.

 

101 members of the IOC have the right to vote

There are a total of 101 members in the IOC, who have voting rights. Apart from this, there are 45 honorable and one respected member, who do not have voting rights. The Olympic Committee also includes presidents and secretaries of more than 50 international sports federations. Members of the Summer and Winter Olympics also attend this meeting.

On getting India to host the Olympic Committee meeting, Nita Ambani said, "The Olympic campaign in India has returned after 40 years. I am grateful to the International Olympic Committee for hosting the Olympic Committee meeting. India's Olympic hopes This is very important for us. This will usher in a new era of sports in India. Anurag Thakur said a historical moment

Anurag Thakur said that the Olympic Committee meeting is being held in India in 2023. This is a historic moment for India. Indian sport has taken a big leap in the last few years. Excited and proud to be a part of India's delegation at such a crucial time.
